This
help page explains the "website search" function, options and
features. As new options are added to the
search engine, the features of those options
will be explained here:
The
"Exact Words" checkbox:
This
option allows you to limit your search making
the search results more accurate.
Searching for
"prospect" will count both Prospect
and Prospecting showing those pages in
the search results. (Prospecting
will appear in the search results, as the word "prospect" is
contained within.)
Enabling
the "Exact Words" checkbox, in effect,
eliminates
the word Prospecting from the
"prospect" word count. Using
this option, the website search engine will only
count the occurrences of
"prospect".
This
"Exact Words" checkbox defaults
to ON.
The
"Exclude HTML" checkbox:
This option allows you to make the search results more
accurate. By default, the website search engine will search the
entire website page code for the keyword regardless of
where in the page the keyword occurs.
Enabling
the "Exclude HTML" checkbox eliminates all
the HTML tags from the search. (The
keyword may be in a META or HTML tag and will not
appear directly on the page. Therefore, a
page may show up in your results, but you
wouldn't find it using the "Find"
feature of your browser.) These
"hidden" words will not be counted or
show up on
the search
results list.
This
"Exclude HTML" checkbox will default to ON.
(This
option is currently under construction.)
The
"Boolean" checkbox:
This allows you to use "Boolean"
search string instructions and make the search
results more accurate. By using this
option, you can take advantage of the
"Boolean" characters such as +
(plus sign),
- (minus sign) and
" (double quote).
You
can include quotation marks (") to
delineate a phrase, plus signs (+) to require
words or minus signs (-) to exclude words.
For example:
This
entry will search for documents that contain either result
or delivery or any capitalized variant
(i.e. Result,
RESULT, DeLiVeRY, Delivery).
This
entry will search for
documents that have either Result or Delivery
but not any other capitalized variation.
When you use a capitalized word,
the search engine assumes that you are
only interested in an exact match.
This
entry will search for
only documents that contain both words.
Be sure there is no space between the plus
sign and the keyword.
In
this case, all
documents found must contain result
or any capitalized variant. The
results may or may not include the word delivery.
This
entry will search for
documents that have the exact phrase.
Placing quotation marks around any
series of words turns them into a phrase
and tells the search engine that you are
only interested in documents that have these
words in this specific order.
This
entry will search for
documents that contain the phrase "Result
Delivery" but do not contain
the word "Sale".
This
will search for documents that contain Result
and any word
starting with Deliv. Use an asterisk
when you're not sure how a word is spelled
or to find variations.
This
"Boolean" checkbox will default to OFF.
(This
option is currently under construction.)
